Currently working at Southampton City College as learning support assistant helping students with special educational needs in lessons and also teaching functional skills maths. I am an overseas qualified physics teacher who recently completed PGCE secondary maths at the University of Chichester. I love maths and enjoy working with young people and helping them achieve their educational goals. Four years experience of teaching Physics and science, two years experience of teaching English and one year experience of teaching maths in secondary schools. I have privately tutored students of varying ages and abilities, supporting and developing their learning for over five years and received many positive feedbacks from my students and parents like "Thank you for all your hard work. You certainly made a difference to X's confidence". I am very approachable and form good working relationships with my students. I work to bring confidence to my students. It is important to build this up by breaking tasks into small steps and through effective revision. I like to use exam papers to monitor progress. I set questions to develop the skills in answering exam questions in the most efficient way. I have found this to be the most effective approach in achieving goals. I also make sure my teaching programme matches the individual needs of my students.
